Procedure
According to Scheme 12: The title compound was prepared from quinolin-2-ol (1 eq, 0.69 mmol, 0.10 g) and 1-(bromomethyl)-4-chlorobenzene (1.5 eq, 1.03 mmol, 0.21 g) according to the procedure described for Example 1, Step 2. Reaction conditions: 17 hours under reflux. The residue was purified by flash chromatography on silica gel using pure CH2Cl2 as eluent to afford 1-(4-chlorobenzyl)quinolin-2(1H)-one as a white solid (0.55 mmol, 0.15 g, 79%).
