According to Scheme 23 Step 3: The title compound was prepared from 5-bromo-2,4-dimethoxypyridine (1 eq, 1.40 mmol, 0.30 g) and 4-methoxyphenylboronic acid (1.5 eq, 2.10 mmol, 0.32 g) according to the procedure described for Example 1 Step 3. The crude product was purified by flash chromatography over silica gel (AIT Flashsmart prepacked column 25 g SiO2) using CH2Cl2/MeOH 98/2 to afford 2,4-dimethoxy-5-(4-methoxyphenyl)pyridine (1.39 mmol, 0.34 g, 99%) as a brown oil.
