Procedure

Ethylenediamine (7.40 ml, 111 mmol) was added to a dioxane (80 ml) solution of the compound (4.15 g, 11.0 mmol) obtained in Step 8 above and the resulting mixture was stirred under heating at 100° C. for 18 hours. The reaction mixture was concentrated under reduced pressure and the residue obtained was diluted with chloroform, washed with 1 N aqueous sodium hydroxide solution and saturated brine, and then dried over anhydrous magnesium sulfate. The solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure and the residue obtained was purified by silica gel column chromatography [chloroform:methanol=93:7 (v/v)] to give the title compound (3.35 g, 97%) as a pale yellow oil.
