Procedure

A solution of 1,2-epithio-3-pentyl-3-decene (20 mg, 83 □mol) and Cu(hfacac)2 (4.1 mg, 8.3 μmol) in benzene (8.3 mL) was heated to 80° C. for 4.5 h under N2. After cooling, concentration of the solvent in vacuo afforded a residue, which was purified by column chromatography (hexanes) to give 2-Hexyl-3-pentyl-2,5-dihydrothiophene (13 mg, 65%) as a colorless oil.
