Procedure
To a solution of 3-(2-quinolylmethoxy)benzyl alcohol (3.58 g, 13.5 mmol) in CHCl3 (100 ml) was added SOCl2 (2 ml). The mixture was stirred at room temperature for 24 hours. A small amount of methanol was added to the reaction mixture, and the solvent thereof was removed under reduced pressure, to thereby obtain the title compound as white powder.
Workup
- customthe solvent thereof was removed under reduced pressure
