Procedure
0.8 g of 3-(1-BOC-4-piperidyl)-5-[4-(2-methoxycarbonylethyl)-piperazino]methyloxazolidin-2-one [obtainable according to Ex. 1] is suspended in 60 ml of methanol, and the mixture is treated with 4 ml of 2N NaOH solution and stirred at room temperature for 4 hours. After removal of the solvent, the residue is taken up in water, the pH is adjusted to 3 by addition of dilute HCl and the reaction mixture is filtered through an ion exchanger. The filtrate is dried over MgSO4. After removal of the solvent and subsequent freeze-drying, 3-(1-BOC-4-piperidyl)-5-[4-(2-carboxyethyl)piperazino]methyloxazolidin-2-one is obtained.
