Reaction Steps

20 mg of (1RS,2RS,3E)-2-(3,4-dichlorobenzyl)-1-methyl-4-(2-naphthyl)-3-butenylamine was dissolved in 1 ml of methylene chloride, and 10 mg of 3-methylglutaric anhydride and 4 μl of triethylamine were added thereto. The mixture was stirred at room temperature for 3 hours. A saturated sodium carbonate aqueous solution and methylene chloride were added to the reaction solution, and the mixture was stirred for 30 minutes. Then, the organic layer was collected by separation, washed with 1N hydrochloric acid and a saturated sodium chloride aqueous solution and then dried over anhydrous magnesium sulfate. The drying agent was separated by filtration, and then the solvent was distilled off under reduced pressure. The residue was subjected to silica gel column chromatography (Wakogel™ C-200, 2 g; chloroform/methanol=20/1) to obtain 16 mg (yield: 74%) of the above-identified compound as colorless oily substance.
