Reaction Steps
Following a procedure similar to that described in Example 1(a), but using 346 mg of 2-[1-(2-methoxy-5-pyridyl)ethylideneaminooxy]ethanol (prepared as described in Preparation 31), 766 mg of 5-(4-hydroxybenzyl)-3-tritylthiazolidine-2,4-dione, 475 mg of triphenylphosphine and 301 mg of diethyl azodicarboxylate, 846 mg of the title compound were obtained as a foam-like solid.
