[3-(N,N-Dibenzylamino)-2hydroxypropoxy]-2,3-diamino benzene (400 mg, 1.1 mmol) was dissolved in a mixture of methylene chloride (70 mL) and pyridine (35mL) and cooled to DOC. Dimethylamino pyridine (DMAP; 311mg, 2.5mmol) was added and thiophosgene (179mg, 0.119mL, 1.6mmol) was introduced in a dropwise fashion. After 30 minutes, another equivalent of thiophosgene was added and the mixture was stirred for 5 hours. Water was carefully added and the resulting biphasic mixture extracted with methylene chloride. The organic solution was dried over MgSO4 and, filtered and evaporated to leave a brown oil (445mg, ca. 100%). MS, NMR.
