The solution of methyl 4-amino-2-(2-methylmorpholino)thiazole-5-carboxylate (1.4 g, 5.4 mmol) in formamide (5 mL) was stirred at 200° C. for 1.5 hours. The mixture was cooled to ambient temperature. The precipitate was collected through filtration and washed with water to give the desired product (1.0 g, 73%). 1H NMR (300 MHz, d6-DMSO) δ 12.42 (br, 1H), 8.09 (s, 1H), 3.93˜3.82 (m, 3H), 3.61-3.54 (m, 2H), 3.24 (m, 1H), 2.92 (m, 1H), 1.16 (m, 3H); LC-MS: 253 (MH+).
