Procedure

The title compound is prepared from commercially available 2-methyl-6-propyl-phenol in analogy to literature procedures (e.g. B. Roth et al., J. Med. Chem. (1988), 31, 122-129; and literature cited for 3-ethyl-4,N-dihydroxy-5-methyl-benzamidine). LC-MS: tR=0.54 min; [M+1]+=209.43; 1H NMR (D6-DMSO): δ 0.90 (t, J=7.3 Hz, 3H), 1.48-1.59 (m, 3H), 2.19 (s, 3H), 2.56 (t, J=7.3 Hz, 2H), 7.37 (s, 1H), 7.40 (s, 1H), 9.34 (s, 1H).
