The title compound is prepared in analogy to rac-4-(2,2-dimethyl-[1,3]dioxolan-4-ylmethoxy)-N-hydroxy-3,5-dimethyl-benzamidine starting from 3-chloro-4-hydroxy-5-methoxy-benzonitrile and L-α,β-isopropylidene glycerol. LC-MS: tR=0.42 min, [M+H]+=331.17; 1H NMR (D6-DMSO): δ 1.30 (s, 3H), 1.34 (s, 3H), 3.86 (s, 3H), 3.87-3.93 (m, 2H), 4.00-4.12 (m, 2H), 4.36 (quint, J=5.8 Hz, 1H), 5.90 (s, 2H), 7.32 (d, J=2.0 Hz, 1H), 7.34 (d, J=2.0 Hz, 1H), 9.71 (s, 1H).
