Procedure

To a stirred solution of 2-chloro-N-((4,6-dimethyl-2-oxo-1,2-dihydropyridin-3-yl)methyl)-6-(4-((dimethylamino)methyl)phenyl)isonicotinamide (0.11 g, 0.25 mmol), boronic acid (0.059 g, 0.27 mmol) in dioxane/water mixture (3 mL+1.5 mL), Na2CO3 (0.098 g, 3.6 mmol) was added and reaction mass purged with argon for 15 min. Then Pd(PPh3)4 (0.028 g, 0.025 mmol) was added and argon was purged again for 10 min. Reaction mass was heated at 100° C. for 3 h. On completion, reaction mass filtered through celite and celite bed washed with ethyl acetate. Combined filtrates were dried over Na2SO4 and solvent removed under reduced pressure to afford crude material which was purified by column over silica gel to obtain 2-(cyclohex-1-en-1-yl)-N-((4,6-dimethyl-2-oxo-1,2-dihydropyridin-3-yl)methyl)-6-(4-((dimethylamino)methyl)phenyl)isonicotinamide.
