Procedure
SOCl2 (27 μL, 0.37 mmol) was added dropwise to a stirred solution of [3-(1-butyl-1H-imidazol-2-ylsulfanyl)-5-chloro-pyridin-4-yl]-methanol (22 mg, 0.74 mmol) in DCM (4 mL). After stirring for 1 h at room temperature, saturated aqueous Na2CO3 solution (5 mL) and DCM (5 mL) was added to the reaction mixture. The organic layer was dried over Na2SO4, filtered, and concentrated in vacuo. The resulting title compound was used for the next reaction without purification. MS (m/z): 316.1 [M+H+].
