1-[4-Methyl-3-(tetrahydro-pyran-2-yloxymethyl)-pyridin-2-ylmethyl]-3-trifluoromethyl-1H-pyridin-2-one (100 mg. 0.26 mmol) was dissolved in DCM (5 mL). SOCl2 (97 μL. 1.31 mmol) and water (25 μL) were added and the reaction mixture was stirred for 1 h at RT. After removal of the solvents in vacuo the resulting title compound was used for the next reaction without purification. MS (m/z): 317.0 [M+H+].
