Reaction Steps
The title compound was prepared according to the procedure described in WO2006/10094. To a mixture of t-butyl hydroxycarbamate (11.27 g, 85 mmol) and DBU (12.8 mL, 85 mmol) was added 2-bromoethanol (15 mL, 212 mmol) slowly, and the reaction mixture was stirred at 40° C. for 2.5 days. After cooling, the reaction mixture was diluted with DCM, and washed successively with cold 1N HCl aqueous solution, water, and brine. The organic layer was dried over anhydrous Na2SO4, purified by column chromatography (38% EtOAc in hexane) to afford 12.6 g (70%) of the title compound as a colorless syrup. 1H-NMR (400 MHz, DMSO-d6) ppm 9.95 (s br, 1H), 4.55 (t, 1H), 3.70 (t, 2H), 3.45-3.55 (m, 2H), 1.38 (s, 9H).
