A solution of 3-methyl-2-(tributylstannyl)pyridine (1.0 g), tert-butyl{[5-bromo-1-(pyridin-3-ylsulfonyl)-1H-pyrrol-3-yl]methyl}methylcarbamate (563 mg) and tetrakis(triphenylphosphine)palladium (454 mg) in toluene was stirred under a nitrogen atmosphere at 120° C. for 30 hr. The mixture was cooled to room temperature and the solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure. The residue was purified by basic silica gel column chromatography (eluent: hexane-ethyl acetate=4:1) to give the title compound as a colorless oil (yield 129 mg, 22%).
