Following the procedure as described in PREPARATION 6A, and making non-critical variations using 2,3-dihydrobenzofuran-6-ol to replace 3,4-dimethylphenol, and 1-(diphenylmethyl)-5-fluoro-1H-indole-2,3-dione to replace 1-(diphenylmethyl)-1H-indole-2,3-dione, 1-(diphenylmethyl)-5-fluoro-3-hydroxy-3-(6-hydroxy-2,3-dihydro-1-benzofuran-5-yl)-1,3-dihydro-2H-indol-2-one was obtained (99%): 1H NMR (300 MHz, CDCl3) δ 8.94 (s, 1H), 7.36-7.19 (m, 11H), 6.94 (s, 1H), 6.82-6.75 (m, 1H), 6.63 (s, 1H), 6.48-6.38 (m, 2H), 4.53 (t, J=9.0 Hz, 2H), 4.38 (br s, 1H), 3.06-3.00 (m, 2H); MS (ES+) m/z 466.4 (M−1).
