Following the procedure as described in EXAMPLE 3 and making non-critical variations using 1′-(diphenylmethyl)-4′-fluoro-7′-methyl-5,6-dihydrospiro[benzo[1,2-b:5,4-b′]difuran-3,3′-indol]-2′(1′H)-one to replace 1′-(diphenylmethyl)-6-methoxy-5-methylspiro[1-benzofuran-3,3′-indol]-2′(1′H)-one, 4′-fluoro-7′-methyl-5,6-dihydrospiro[benzo[1,2-b:5,4-b′]difuran-3,3′-indol]-2′(1′H)-one was obtained (76%) as a colorless solid: mp>250° C. (diethylether); 1H NMR (300 MHz, DMSO-d6) δ10.84 (s, 1H), 7.12-7.07 (m, 1H), 6.72-6.65 (m, 1H), 6.59 (s, 1H), 6.37 (s, 1H), 4.78-4.73 (m, 2H), 4.50 (t, J=8.7 Hz, 2H), 2.97 (d, J=8.7 Hz, 2H), 2.20 (s, 3H); MS (ES+) m/z 311.9 (M+1).
