To a 100 mL round bottom flask equipped for stirring was added (R)-1-tert-butyl 3-methyl 4-((1-tert-butoxy-1-oxobutan-2-ylamino)methyl)-1H-pyrrolo[2,3-b]pyridine-1,3-dicarboxylate (1.45 g, 3.24 mmol) and DCM (10 mL). TFA (10 mL) was added and the reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for 30 min. The reaction mixture was concentrated and dried in vacuo to afford the title compound as a yellow oil (1.3 g, 99%) (TFA salt). [M+H] calc'd for C14H17N3O4, 292; found, 292.6.
