Reaction Steps
To [3-(2-aminomethyl-4-trifluoromethyl-phenoxy)-phenyl]-acetic acid ethyl ester (0.084 g, 0.24 mmol) and pyridine (2.0 mL) in CH2Cl2 (2.5 mL) was added 4-chlorobenzoyl chloride (0.04 mL, 0.29 mmol), and the reaction was stirred for 30 minutes at room temperature. The mixture was partitioned between CH2Cl2 and 1N aqueous HCl, and the organic layer was separated and washed twice with 1N aqueous HCl. The organic layer was dried and concentrated, resulting in the formation of a white precipitate. The precipitate was filtered off, and the filtrate was concentrated to give the title compound.
