3.46 g of fumaric acid were added to a solution of 8.75 g of crude 5-bromo-3-{[(2S)-1-methylpyrrolidin-2-yl]methyl}-1H-indole (HPLC assay 64.9%) in 43.75 mL of ethanol. After stirring for 2 hours the reaction mixture was filtered washing with mL of ethanol/heptane in a 1/1 ratio and the crystal was dried in oven under vacuum until a constant weight of 7.1 g (HPLC purity 91.7%) was obtained.
