Reaction Steps

To a solution of the product of example 11 (0.135 mmol) in CH2Cl2 (4 ml) was added FeCl3 (66 mg, 0.402 mmol) at room temperature. The mixture was stirred at room temperature for 2 hours, after which CH2Cl2 was evaporated under reduced pressure and ethyl acetate (30 ml) was added. Then the mixture was washed by 1N HCl (10 ml), H2O (10 ml) and brine (10 ml) successively, dried over Na2SO4 and concentrated into about 1 ml. The resulting solids were collected by filtration and washed with cold ethyl acetate (2-3 ml) to give the desired product.
