To (S)-3-(4-chlorophenyl)-4-(3-hydroxyphenyl)oxazolidin-2-one (0.07 mmol), K2CO3 (0.37 mmol) in DMF (0.5 mL) is added iodoethane (0.14 mmol) and the reaction stirred at 60° C. overnight, then cooled to room temperature, filtered through a Whatman 0.42 μM filter and purified by preparative HPLC (C-18, 10-90% ACN/water (0.05% TFA)). HPLC-MS calculated for C17H16ClNO3 (M+H+): 318.1, found 318.0.
