Reaction Steps
O3 -Carboxymethyl morphine (3.43g) and 1.31ml isobutyl chloroformate were combined in 30ml DMF at 0°. The resulting clear solution was then added to a stirring solution of 2.88g BSA and 13g NaHCO3 in 600ml of water at 0°. Addition was carried out by means of a syringe with its tip below the solution surface. The solution was stirred in a cold room overnight.
