Reaction Steps
To a solution of 0.390 (1.182 mmol) of the product of Example 53 dissolved in 12 mL of methanol/THF (1:1) was added 5.9 mmol of 1.0N sodium hydroxide solution and the resulting mixture was stirred for 15 h at room temperature. The reaction was then brought to pH 6 with 5% HCl and extracted with dichloromethane. The organics were dried over Na2SO4, filtered and concentrated in vacuo to provide 0.265 g (74%) of the carboxylic acid as a pale yellow solid. Electrospray Mass Spec: 302.9 (M+H)+
