Reaction Steps
Methyl (2S,5R,6R)-6-benzyloxycarbonylamino-3,3-dimethyl-7-oxo-4-thia-1-azabicyclo [3,2,0] heptane-2-carboxylate (364 mg, 1 mmol) was hydrogenated with about 1.5 g of 10% palladium on activated carbon in 25 ml of ethyl acetate at 50 psi hydrogen pressure at room temperature for 10 hrs. After removal of catalyst by filtration, deprotected methyl (2S,5R,6R)-6-amino-3,3-dimethyl-7-oxo-4-thia-1-azabicyclo [3,2,0] heptane-2-carboxylate in ethyl acetate was obtained.
