Reaction Steps
A solution of 0.285 g (0.634 mM) of (E)-N-(piperidin-4-ylmethyl)-2-(5-thia-1,8b-diazaacenaphthylen-4-yl)vinylsulfonamide dihydrochloride, 0.15 g (0.76 mM) of 1-bromo-3-phenylpropane, and 0.31 ml (2.22 mM) of triethylamine in 20 ml of ethanol was refluxed for 1 day. This reaction mixture was then poured in aqueous solution of sodium hydrogen carbonate and extracted with 2 portions of ethyl acetate. The organic layers were combined and dried over MgSO4 and the solvent was distilled off under reduced pressure. The residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography (ethyl acetate˜ethyl acetate/methanol : 9/1) to provide the title compound.
