Reaction Steps
A stirred solution of 6-amino-2-(2-propoxyphenyl)pyrimidin-4[3H]-one (0.5 g) and acetic anhydride ml) was heated under reflux for 2.5 hours. The cooled reaction mixture was evaporated under reduced pressure to yield a residue which was washed with water and recrystallized twice from methanol to yield the title compound, 0.29 g, m.p. 230-1° C.
