Procedure

Sodium borohydride reduction of 3.0 g (13.6 mmol) of 1-[1-methyl-2-(2,2,3-trimethyl-cyclopent-3-enylmethyl)cyclopropyl]ethanone from Example 12a according to Example 1b gave 1.6 g of 1-[1-methyl-2-(2,2,3-trimethylcyclopent-3-enylmethyl)cyclopropyl]ethanol (53% yield).
