1-(2-Toluoylmethyl)-2-oxo-3-tert-butoxycarbonylamino-5-(2-cyclohexen-1-yl)-8-methyl-1,3,4,5-tetrahydro-2H-1,5-benzodiazepine (0.30 g) was dissolved in methanol (10 ml), 10% palladium carbon (0.10 g) was added, the mixture was stirred for 2 hours under hydrogen atmosphere. Palladium carbon was removed by filtration, the filtrate was concentrated under reduced pressure, to thereby obtain 0.29 g of the titled compound (Yield 96%).
