Reaction Steps
The title compound was prepared in 16% yield from the (R)-1-(3-phenylpropyl)-3-(3-methoxyphenyl)piperidine from Preparation 4 by treatment with 48% aqueous hydrobromic acid in glacial acetic acid, using the procedure of Example 3. The product melted at 181°-183° C., [alpha]D25 =+10.4° (c=1; C2H5OH).
