Reagents, catalysts & solvents 1
Procedure
98 mg of Z-Arg-Arg-Pro-Phe-His-Sta-β-Ala-His-NH2 (from Example 20) are dissolved in 2 ml of 95% strength MeOH and hydrogenated with 20 mg of Pd-on-carbon (10% Pd), while stirring with a magnet and passing hydrogen through, until the starting material has disappeared. The catalyst is then filtered off, the filtrate is concentrated to dryness and the vitreous residue is dissolved in 2 ml of H2O and lyophilised, yielding H-Arg-Arg-Pro-Phe-His-Sta-β-Ala-His-NH2 in the form of an amorphous powder; Rf (D)=0.05; Rf (M)=0.06; Rf (O)=0.06.
