Reaction Steps
As described for example 2, 5-methyl-3-phenyl-isoxazole-4-carboxylic acid hydrazide (400 mg, 1.84 mmol) was converted using benzimidazole-5-carboxylic acid instead of o-toluic acid to the title compound (SiO2, heptane:ethyl acetate:dichloromethane:methanol=70:20:10:0 to 0:80:10:10, 33 mg, 5%) which was obtained as an off-white solid. MS: m/e=344.1 [M+H]+.
