A solution of 0.040 g (4R,9aR)-6-[(tert-butoxycarbonyl-cyclopropyl-amino)-methyl]-7-formyl-4-methyl-3,4,9,9a-tetrahydro-1H-2,4a,5-triaza-fluorene-2-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester in 0.50 ml trifluoroacetic acid was kept at room temperature for 18 h. The solvent was evaporated and the residue was purified by chromatography on silica gel with dichloromethane:methanol:ammonia=90:10:1 to yield 0.0025 g of the title compound as colorless foam (MS: 269.4 (M+H+)).
