A stirred solution of 5-{1-[4-trifluoromethyl-6-(4-trifluoromethyl-phenyl)-pyrimidin-2-yl]-1H-imidazol-4-yl}-pyridin-2-ylamine (example 13) (0.314 g, 0.7 mmol) in acetic acid anhydride (6 ml) was heated at 120° C. for 1 h. To the cooled reaction mixture was added diethyl ether (10 ml), the precipitate was collected by filtration and dried to yield the title compound as a light yellow solid (0.29 g, 84%). MS (ISP) 493.3 [(M+H)+]; mp 314° C.
