Procedure
6.5 Parts of N-[4-(4-methoxyphenyl)-1-piperazinyl]hydrazinecarboxamide and 6.5 parts of methanimidamide acetate (1:1) are melted together for 1 hour at 140° C. Water is added to the melt. The solid product is filtered off and crystallized from 1-butanol, yielding 4.5 parts (68%) of 2,4-dihydro-4-[4-(4-methoxyphenyl)-1-piperazinyl]-3H-1,2,4-triazol-3-one.
