Reaction Steps

To a solution of the product from Step B (0.40 g, 0.870 mmol) in CHCl3 (9 mL) was added hydrogen chloride (7.62 mL, 30.5 mmol, 4.0 M in dioxane) and the reaction was stirred at ambient temperature for 5 hours. The resulting yellow solid was removed by direct filtration and the solid was washed with Et2O and dried in vacuo to provide 0.296 g (72%) of the desired product as a yellow solid. MS ESI (+) m/z 360.1 (M+1) detected.
