To a solution of 6-[2-ethyl-5-fluoro-4-(2-trimethylsilanyl-ethoxymethoxy)-phenyl]-1-(tetrahydro-pyran-2-yl)-1H-indazole-3-carboximidic acid methyl ester (Preparation 7, 31.4 g, 59.5 mmol) in ethanol (140 mL) was added a solution of 3-amino-4,4-diethoxy-piperidine-1-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester (US-2004/0229862, 18.02 g, 62.48 mmol) in ethanol (100 mL). Acetic acid (6.81 mL, 119 mmol) was added and the reaction mixture was heated at 50° C. for 18 hours. The reaction mixture was concentrated in vacuo and azeotroped with toluene (100 mL) to give the title compound as a foam (54.7 g).
