(2S,4S)-1-tert-Butyl 2-(2-oxo-2-(8-oxo-8,9,10,11-tetrahydro-5H-dibenzo[c,g]chromen-3-yl)ethyl) 4-(methoxymethyl)pyrrolidine-1,2-dicarboxylate (7.66 g, 13.9 mmol) was dissolved in a solution of DCM (100 mL) and MeOH (40 mL), then treated with pyridinium tribromide (4.90 g, 15.3 mmol). After stirring at RT for 1.75 h, the reaction mixture was diluted with DCM and washed successively with 10% HCl, saturated aqueous NaHCO3 and brine. The organic phase was dried over MgSO4, filtered and concentrated under reduced pressure and the crude material was carried on without further purification.
