Reaction Steps

The compound of step 2 (1.40 g, 3.80 mmol) was dissolved in ethanol (160 ml), and palladium on activated carbon (700 mg, 658 μmol, 10%) was added. The reaction mixture was hydrogenated (1 bar H2) at room temperature overnight. The mixture was filtered over celite, and the filtrate was evaporated under reduced pressure. Column chromatography of the residue on silica gel (EA (50%)/HEP) gave 1.10 g of the title compound.
