Procedure

To a solution of 0.1 g of 1,9-dioxo-16-hydroxy-1-hydroxymethyl-16-methyl-10,13-trans-prostadiene in 0.75 ml of pyridine is added 0.026 g of acetic anhydride. After 18 hours at room temperature, the solvent is removed at reduced pressure and the residue is chromatographed on silica gel to give the title compound.

Workup

  1. customthe solvent is removed at reduced pressure
  2. customthe residue is chromatographed on silica gel
