The title compound of Example 3 (1.9 g, 0.008 mole), 2,6-bis(1,1-dimethylethyl)-4-mercaptophenol(2 g, 0.008 mole) and triethylamine (0.5 ml) were stirred in methanol (25 ml) for about 12 hours. The solvent was removed in vacuo on a rotary evaporator, the crude material purified by chromatography on silica and recrystallized from hexane, m.p. ca. 168.5°-172° C. Analysis calc. for C29H47O2NS(473.76): Calc.: C, 73.52; H, 10.00; N, 2.96; S, 6.77. Found: C, 73.43; H, 10.24; N, 2.91; S, 6.91.
