To a solution of 0.56 g (1.1 mmol) of 4-[4-(benzenesulfonyl-isobutyl-amino)-phenyl]-5,5,5-trifluoro-4-hydroxy-pent-2-ynoic acid tert-butyl ester (Example 71) in 15 mL of CH2Cl2 was added 0.3 mL of trifluoroacetic acid. The mixture was stirred at room temperature for 24 h. After this time the solvent was evaporated, and the residue was purified by chromatography (silica, hexanes:EtOAc, 1:1) to give the title compound.
