To a solution of 10b (25 mg, 0.08 mmol) in CH2Cl2 (5 ml) 4N aq. HCl (5 ml) was added and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 45 min. The organic solution was separated and extracted with 4N aq. HCl. The aqueous solution was filtered and evaporated to obtain 6,7,8,9-Tetrahydro-6-hydroxy-4-methoxypyrido[3′,2′:4,5]pyrrolo[1,2-c]pyrimidin-9-one (20 mg, 95%) as hydrochloride salt as a light orange solid.
