NIS (100 mg, 0.44 mmol) was portionwise added to a cooled (0° C.) solution of 9-Acetylaminopyrido[3′,2′:4,5]pyrrolo[1,2-c]pyrimidine (100 mg, 0.44 mmol) in CH2Cl2 (20 ml). The mixture was stirred for 15 min. The solution was diluted with CH2Cl2 (50 ml) and washed twice with water. The organic layer was dried and evaporated to obtain 20a (142 mg, 93%) as a bright yellow solid
