Procedure
Methyl [3-(1-adamantyl)-5-phenyl-4H-1,2,4-triazol-4-yl]acetate (4-55) (15 mg), 0.5 N NaOH (1 mL) and methanol (0.5 mL) were reacted at room temperature for 17 h. The methanol was evaporated in vacuo. The aqueous residue was acidified with acetic acid and extracted ten times with chloroform. The extracts were dried (MgSO4) and evaporated in vacuo to give [3-(1-adamantyl)-5-phenyl-4H-1,2,4-triazol-4-yl]acetic acid (4-54). MS: 338 (M+1).
