Procedure

To a mixture of carbamate (28) (1.13 g) in 100 mL of MeOH in a Parr bottle was added 500 mg of 10% Pd/C. This slurry was shaken under 50 psi of H2 (g) at room temperature overnight. The mixture was filtered through a pad of Celite and rinsed with CH2Cl2 (2×100 mL). The solution was concentrated to a crude yellow oil (29) (130 mg) and used in the next reaction without further purification.
