0.015 g 2-{[4-chloro-1-(2-trifluoromethyl-pyrimidin-5-ylmethoxy)-naphthalene-2-carbonyl]amino}-2-methyl-propionic acid tert-butyl ester was dissolved in 5 mL of a mixture consisting of 95% trifluoroacetic acid, 2.5% triethylsilanes and 2.5% of water. This was left stirring at room temperature for 30 minutes, and then it was concentrated in vacuo. Purification was performed by flash chromatography on silica using methanol/dichloromethane to give 0.007 g (53%) of 2-{[4-Chloro-1-(2-trifluoromethyl-pyrimidin-5-ylmethoxy)-naphthalene-2-carbonyl]-amino}-2-methyl-propionic acid.
