Procedure

A solution of (1S,3S,5S)-3-(benzylamino-methyl)-2-azabicyclo[3.3.0]octane-2-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester (9.0 mmol) in ethanol (10 mL) is added to a suspension of Pd/C (1.9 g, 10%) in ethanol (40 mL) and stirred under a hydrogen atmosphere (1 bar) for 16 h. After filtration through celite, washing with ethanol and removal of the solvents the desired amine is obtained which is used without further purification. LC-MS: tR=0.73 min; [M+H]+=241.4.
